KPV 10mg Peptides

KPV 10mg is a synthetic peptide related to α‑MSH with reported anti-inflammatory and tissue‑repair effects. Research suggests benefits for wound healing, reduced scarring, calming inflamed skin (dermatitis, acne, rosacea), and investigational use in gastrointestinal inflammation and immune modulation. If you choose to buy KPV, source from reputable suppliers with certificates of analysis, follow handling instructions, and consult regulatory guidance and qualified professionals before experimental or clinical use.

What Is KPV?

KPV is a synthetic tripeptide with the sequence Lys-Pro-Val. It corresponds to the C-terminal fragment of α-MSH and is investigated for its effects on signalling pathways associated with immune responses.

Property Detail
Molecular formula, free acid C₁₆H₃₀N₄O₄
Molecular weight, free acid Approximately 342.43 g/mol
Sequence Lys-Pro-Val
Typical presentation White to off-white lyophilised solid

Confirm the chemical form against the supplier’s documentation. Terminal modifications, counterions and water content can affect calculations, so the labelled amount should not automatically be treated as the mass of pure, anhydrous peptide.

What the Research Has Investigated

Research has examined KPV in experiments involving intracellular signalling, gene expression and epithelial responses. Investigators have reported antiinflammatory activity in particular cell systems and animal models, but the findings remain dependent on concentration, exposure conditions and the model used.

A measured signal should be interpreted in relation to the assay. Changes in a signalling protein or cytokine do not independently establish a clinical benefit or demonstrate that the same response occurs across different tissues.

Uptake Through PepT1

Experimental work has identified the peptide transporter PepT1 as a route for KPV uptake in intestinal epithelial and immune-cell models. In those systems, uptake was associated with reduced NF-κB signalling and downstream inflammatory responses.

This provides a rationale for examining transporter expression when designing an experiment. It does not establish that every cell type takes up the compound equally or responds through the same mechanism.

Intestinal Models

Studies have also examined KPV in chemically induced colitis models in mice. Reported outcomes support further investigation of intestinal signalling and barrier-associated processes, but animal findings should not be presented as evidence of effectiveness in people.

Researchers should distinguish measurements of tissue damage, cytokine production and barrier function rather than treating them as equivalent indicators. Appropriate controls help determine which aspects of a response are supported by the data.

Why the Structure Matters

The small size of this tripeptide distinguishes it from its parent hormone and other related compounds. It lacks the His-Phe-Arg-Trp sequence associated with conventional melanocortin receptor activation.

Published experiments have identified receptor-independent effects, so a simple claim that KPV acts through a particular melanocortin receptor would be misleading. Its mechanism should be described according to the experimental system and evidence available.

The peptide should also be distinguished from cysteine-extended dimers such as (CKPV)₂. A similar name does not establish identical composition, molecular weight or biological activity.

Limitations of the Evidence

The cited studies do not establish human safety or therapeutic efficacy. Findings about antiinflammatory activity under controlled conditions should remain separate from claims about treating disease.

Delivery methods can also influence results. A preparation incorporated into a carrier system may behave differently from material dissolved directly in an experimental medium. Comparisons should account for formulation, exposure and the endpoints measured.

Quality and Analysis

Review certificates of analysis for the actual batch supplied. The original description lists several different purity values; these should not be combined into a universal specification.

HPLC can provide information about purity, while mass spectrometry offers complementary identity evidence. If third-party testing is advertised, request the relevant report and match its identifiers to the vial label.

Quality consideration What to assess
Identity Results consistent with the stated compound
Purity Analytical method, acceptance criteria and reported result
Content Evidence supporting the labelled quantity
Water and counterions Information relevant to concentration calculations
Additional testing Specific reports supporting contaminant-related claims

Neither packaging nor a purity percentage alone establishes sterility or suitability for every experiment. Certificates of analysis should be assessed against the requirements of the intended work.

Storage and Reconstitution

Follow the supplier’s documented conditions for the lyophilised material. Before you reconstitute the peptide, confirm the solvent, target concentration and preparation procedure required by the protocol.

Bacteriostatic water should be used only where its composition is compatible with the assay. Record reconstitution details and follow validated instructions for prepared solutions.

If the protocol requires an aliquot of stock solution, label it with the contents, concentration and preparation date. Do not assume a universal shelf life or tolerance for repeated freezing and thawing.

Intended Use and Available Quantities

KPV 10mg and 5mg presentations describe supplied quantities, not recommended doses. Select the pack size according to experimental requirements and current availability.

This product is supplied for laboratory research and research use only. It is not intended for human or veterinary consumption, administration, diagnosis or treatment. Qualified personnel should follow institutional procedures for handling, storage and disposal.
