What is Cagrilintide 5mg
Cagrilintide 5mg is a long-acting synthetic amylin analogue, supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research only. It is not a medicine and is not for human or veterinary administration.
Cagrilintide, also coded AM833, is an acylated analogue of amylin. The fatty-acid modification is intended to promote albumin binding and extend exposure in the models where that has been studied. It acts through calcitonin-receptor/RAMP complexes, not through the GLP-1 receptor. Published work has examined it alone and with semaglutide, including the combination studied as CagriSema. Those findings do not transfer to this vial, and they are not a dosing guide.
