Published studies on the compound have examined lipolysis, lipogenesis, and fatty acid oxidation in adipocytes and rodents, including reduced weight gain in obese Zucker rats in a preclinical model. Those findings do not apply to this vial and do not constitute dosing instructions. AOD-9604 is not an approved medicine.
What it is
AOD-9604 was developed to study a fat-metabolism region of growth hormone separately from the parent hormone’s growth activity. Published work has examined lipolysis, β3-adrenergic receptor expression, and lipoprotein lipase in adipocyte and rodent models. Those findings do not establish a single mechanism, and they do not establish effectiveness or safety in people. AOD-9604 is not an approved weight-loss drug.
One preclinical design reported less weight gain in obese Zucker rats, with blood glucose unchanged in that model. Dose, route, and exposure in that study are not instructions for any other setting.
